It’s Adult Sex Ed Month, and Fuck.com is here to educate you! Resident writer Kayla Lords straightens out a few question marks about the P-spot, and how a prostate massage can take your orgasms to a whole new level.

While a lot of sexual education in the online world focuses on the pleasure and orgasms for people with vulvas, the penis-owners of the world could learn a thing or two. If you think your prostate is only something a doctor will check when you’re older, think again. It’s home to a powerful erogenous zone - the P-spot -  that could make your orgasms stronger and more intense and make you harder than you’ve ever been before.

What is the P-Spot?

Vulva-owners have the G-spot and the A-spot, not to mention a clitoris filled with thousands of nerves designed specifically for pleasure. Don’t feel left out if you’re thinking, “But all I have is a dick!” First of all, when shown enough attention and love, you know better than I do how good your balls can feel. But, secondly and most important for this discussion, you’ve got another zone or spot that you might not have known about just around the corner from your balls.

Yes, we’re talking about butt stuff. The prostate is located inside the anus and when stimulated, massaged, and shown the right amount of attention, feels damn good. Full disclosure: I don’t have a P-spot, so I rely on those who do to tell me, and mostly they say, “Oh my fucking God” over and over again which I take as a good sign.

Insert a well-lubed finger in your anus (yes, your butt) and feel for a round, soft kind of knobby bit (that’s a technical term). It may be the size of a walnut up to about a plum depending on your health and age. If you touch that part of your body and it feels amazing - congrats! You’ve found your P-spot.

Trying Prostate Massage

Now that you’ve found your P-spot what are you supposed to do with it? Rub it right, of course. Well, only if you’re interested and it feels good. Just because you have a potential erogenous zone doesn’t mean you have to start going crazy with it. But don’t let any weirdness you feel about liking butt stuff stop you from exploring something that feels good, either. Anal play is for anyone who enjoys it, regardless of sexuality.

If a finger or toy up your butt squicks you out, start with an external prostate massage. Reach down below your testicles but just before your anus. Feel that little patch of skin? You might have called it your “taint” in the past, but we’re grown-ups, so let’s use its real name - the perineum. Rub that spot if it feels good during masturbation, handjobs, or blowjobs, and your orgasms may be much more intense. It’s unlikely you will orgasm just from rubbing your perineum but feel free to experiment.

If playing with your prostate doesn’t freak you out at all, internal prostate massage is where most of the fun happens. You can buy a prostate massage vibrator or use your hand (or a partner’s) to rub you right. As long as it feels good, keep doing it. Many people are shocked at the intensity and ferocity of their orgasms when stimulating the prostate.

Are Multiple Orgasms a Possibility?

One of the selling points of prostate massage is the promise of the elusive multiple orgasms. Like other erogenous zones on other bodies, your experience will vary. One point to know is that while multiple orgasms in penises are possible, and more so with the addition of prostate massage and P-spot play, ejaculation still requires a refractory period.

You can (potentially) have multiple orgasms but shooting a new load is highly unlikely. You might wonder if you even did orgasm because some of the sensations will feel different. If your cock is rock hard and you feel like every muscle has tightened into a knot followed by a “release” - it’s probably an orgasm.

Don’t let the spectre of multiple orgasms be the only reason you play with your prostate. That might be a good incentive to try, but allow yourself to experience pleasure in whatever form it takes. Maybe you only get one explosive orgasm from stimulating your P-spot - that’s okay! The purpose is to feel a different kind of pleasure and learn something new about your body. The orgasms are icing on the cake.

A word of advice from someone who had to go searching for her G-spot, who still hasn’t found her A-spot, and who just likes to do what works with her clitoris - do not feel stress or pressure to have an orgasm from prostate massage. Maybe you just don’t want to try anal play, even if the reward is a massive orgasm. Maybe you tried, and it doesn’t feel right to you. That’s okay and normal, too. But if you’re curious or want to know if multiple orgasms are a possibility, the P-spot is a good place to start.
