The gag reflex, also known as pharyngeal reflex or laryngeal spasm, can stem from many things. It varies from the tongue, to the roof of the mouth, or back of the throat, and it becomes particularly problematic when you’re desperately wanting to make your man cum without that annoying gag distracting you both. While the tongue is a much harder one to combat, other gag causing issues can be dealt with easily.

1. Flavor is everything

The taste of cock can be the most delicious and desirable flavor, but for those who don’t care for salty skin, there are options available. I’ve run across the standard mint and cherry varieties of flavored lube, and now there are all sorts of new flavors. Cotton candy, gummy bear, chocolate mocha, caramel, and so many more that can be mixed and matched. If taste is a source of gagging for you, try adding a little caramel apple lube to him next time.

2. Stay in control

Staying in control is very important during oral sex. While grabbing your partner’s hair and forcing their head down might seem like a hot idea, it will most likely end in some pretty severe gagging. If you’re getting oral, let go a bit. Allow your partner to explore you without interference. If you’re the one giving oral, distract the hair grabbing with some nipple teasing instead.

3. Fingering for distraction

Sometimes our thoughts get in the way of our ability to give a smokin blowjob. Distraction can be quite useful when the idea of a cock in your mouth is causing you issues. Allow him to use his fingers, or hand if that suits, and match his pacing with your mouth. Soon you’ll be going down all the way, and if there is the slightest of gag, you’ll likely not notice if you’re on the verge of coming yourself!

4. Use your throat

Once his hands are occupied elsewhere, this will enable you to go all the way down. Let his cock not only hit the back of your throat, but really fill it. Moving your head side to side with his cock there, will lessen the gag reflex. Don’t go up and down yet, just side to side. Once your throat is desensitized, you’ll have much more success deep throating him without hitting that reflex.

5. Corner pocket

This one is my favorite, as well as the most successful in taming that gag response. Once you’ve sufficiently desensitized your throat by moving your head side to side on his cock, you’re now ready to go up and down. This step is what I like to call corner pocket. When you move down on him, allow his cock to head slightly on one side. This way it’s not going straight back and into your gag reflex. You can also get him much further down your throat this way. The exact angle is up to you, and I suggest using the side that is least triggering. Remember, play with these things! Experiment! Have fun! The corner pocket method is extremely successful, though it does take some practice in order to figure out which angle is right for you!
